Diane, Jill, and Ted....I was sad to hear the news of your mom’s passing. I have so many fond memories of being next door at Gaga and Hank’s, and spending time with you at either house, having fun. We were warned so many times to stay off that BIG stone wall in your yard, which in reality is not big, but it seemed like it back then! Luckily there were a few times we climbed it without being caught! I remember having to be quiet if we went in the house because your mom was sleeping, having worked the night before. She was always so nice to us, and you all were the best neighbors to Gaga and Hank. She was well revered in her work, mentoring many in their nursing careers, my daughter included. I join you in your sadness, and know someday you will all be together again. Laurie Hafer Baldwin

Yvonne Post was legendary at Lakeland. Ran the St. Joe hospital midnight shift for many years among her many years of service. Always in uniform. A nurse's nurse. Thank you for all you did to care for our patients.

Diane. My heart is with you and your family. Your mom was so nice to me. When my father was having open heart surgery back in the 70’s she made a point to come find me and give me support and kind words. She definitely was a good servant of God.

Mrs Post was my mentor as a new RN working the ER at Mercy in the early 60's. She taught me more about respect for my patient in those years than my 3 years at Bronson School of Nursing. Her care and compassion for every patient has stayed with me both professionally and personally through all the years. To her family hold tight to those memories until you are together again.
God Bless.

My condolences to the Post families. She was one in a million. I have many fond memories of Mrs. Post. She was the epitome of what a great nurse was. I always said she could start an IV on a turnip! I loved following her shift as a house supervisor. She was so organized. She would tell me to call her Yvonne, not Mrs. Post, but she deserved so much respect that it was hard to remember her other than Mrs. Post. We would share kitty stories often and pictures too. Rest In Peace Yvonne, you have earned a well deserved rest! Til we meet again.....

Mr. Post was my work mom during our years at Mercy Hospital, Mercy Memorial Hospital and later Lakeland. She was loving, kind and cared for me as if I were her own daughter. In her later work years I would walk down the long halls and climb stairs to start an IV for her when she was weary at the end of the shift. She portrayed elegance and grace with everything she did and will forever be remembered. She gave me a bear for my children which she loving called her grandchildren. I will miss her unselfish love for all humankind.
With Love

Heaven gained a beautiful soul. I loved and respected her as the Supervising nurse that I worked with for many years. She love to collect those recipes, and never backed down from a challenge. Praying for peace and comfort for those she loved most. God Bless.

I worked second shift in the lab at Mercy and remember when Mrs. Post was “on the house”. She always wore her nurses cap and was very professional.
Sorry for your loss.

Diane, Jill, Ted & Families,
My sincere sympathy for your loss. But also what a wonderful blessing to have had your mother for so long. She was an amazing woman. I always associate thoughts of her when thinking of Mercy Hospital. A dedicated, caring, compassionate Nurse and person. Encouraging & teaching young nurses. Many times we had to call her to start an IV on a child after several failed attempts. She would smile & say “Did you leave anything for me?” Then proceed to show her skills on the first attempt ? I looked up to her and admired her greatly, she exemplified what nursing was. A job well done indeed faithful servant. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and the days ahead. May you feel Gods presence and loving arms around you.

This is the end of an era for the Lakeland family. Mrs. Post was the best - always helpful, and yes, could start an IV on anyone! She never was without her white cap - and at the end of her career, she was the only one with it on - but she didn't care because it was part of being a nurse for her. She was someone that everyone looked up to and admired. God bless you Mrs. Post - you served the Lord well.

Mrs. Post was the epitome of the nursing profession! Those of us who had the privilege to work with her learned so many valuable traits of what being a registered nurse meant. Thank you Mrs. Post and Rest In Peace!

our family met Yvonne when I was in the hospital over 26 years ago when our daughter was born. She was working at the hospital and came to visit me because we had the same last name and wanted to see if our families were related. We both believed that our families were related and she gave me the address to write my husband family in Belarus, which we did. She was a wonderful, sweet and kind woman. It was our pleasure to get to know her. Our deepest condolences to her family. Kim and Peter Pozivilko, Saint Joseph, MI

By far the BEST nurse ever known. I had to call upon Miss Post for advice and she not only gave it, she explained and/or demonstrated the best way. You knew when she was present that you had the best of the best! You will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Yvonne.
