I did not know Mr. Scott well, however, I certainly knew about Grandpa Scott. He was incredibly loved by his wife, daughter, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. I remember seeing him in the hospital after a car accident that was serious. He and his wife, Emma Lee, were very bruised and sore. None of this dampened Grandpa's sense of humor or story telling. He looked at me as a new visitor in his hospital room and took my hand and began talking.... jokes and stories! Loved it and him immediately. His love of life and family and God live on in some of the best ever people I am privileged to know and love.

I visited with Will Jake for several months. I am Clarence Scott's daughter, Judy and while tracing our family tree, I realized I knew very little about Daddy's family. Jake would remember something and call me excited to tell me the story of his cousins. He had some great stories and was very interesting while telling his stories. When I lived in Michigan in 1968-69, I meet Will Jay as we called him, several times. He definitely had a presence that you paid attention to while speaking.
We spoke often and when I realized how serious his health was, he stayed positive. I will miss our calls and our laughs. God Bless.

With deepest sympathy and hugs from home for Jake's family. It was always a pleasure to see and be with Jake and family whenever we'd meet up for business or pleasure. You have our prayers.

I only met my cousin Will J one time. Clarence Scott was my dad, and he and Will J's dad were brothers. Marilyn Scott is my sister and I know that she has visited by phone with Will J several times during the past few months. Anyway, I was in Michigan visiting and my brother Ronnie and sister Margie were there visiting and somehow Will J showed up at the restaurant. We had a glorious time!!!!! He kept us laughing and he cut up and went on for, literally, hours. The restaurant owner was ready to throw us out but we just kept on enjoying this fine cousin of ours. Wonderful, wonderful memories. I know he will be missed and my sympatries are with you along with my prayers. God Bless You All!!!

I has been a long time since I had seen Will J and family. He and Emma Lee were very good to me when I first moved to Benton Harbor in 1962. I was his first cousin. My dad was Clarence Scott and Charlie's brother. I went to Tenn with your family in the 60's and all of Emma's family were wonderful and I got to see graves and hear stories of my family. I am sorry that I never reconnected with him but I did try to phone several times. Marilyn Scott is my sister. He will be missed by a lot of people. Are his brothers still alive? I live in Jonesboro. I am sorry for the loss of such a vibrant man. My heart hurts for you. We lost Daddy in 1991 or 1993. God bless you all with his grace and love during this time.

Haven't seen Jake in a while, but always enjoyed talking ro him. He and my Father-in-Law, John Christians, were great friends from the township. One day after my daughter had lost her husband and moved back to the area, she and I went for a bicycle ride and happened to ride past his house and he was outside, so we had a long chat. He was always so gratious and will be truly missed. Prayers Our Lord wraps his arms around his family during this very trying time. Rest in Peace Friend.
