Gene was married to my sister Rosie and I always loved spending time with him because he was so much fun. I remember Gene waiting outside the ACC, sleeping in a little tent for 2 cold nights to get us all tickets to see Elton John. He was the first person to introduce me to Taco Bell and would love grossing me out by opening up a burrito and telling me it was baby diaper. He would give me rides when I didn't have a car and we'd crank up the music and have a blast singing off key. When he was in prison, we would write each other and I looked forward to his letters. When his TV was forcibly taken from his by another prisoner, Rosie and I sent him the money to replace it and he was so grateful because it was about all he could do was watch TV. Gene had a lot of back pain and really suffered and it made me so sad. I really thank Dave and Yolanna Fay for taking Gene in their home, you two are so special! Gene loved all of his family and he will be missed. Rest in peace buddy, you deserve it.
