Arnold's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Arnold here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Elma, Rose, and Linda:
I remember Arnold’s soft spoken manner and kind words for everybody he always had something good to say about everybody. I never saw him angry at anyone. As a boy my dad and Arnold would include me in their practice shooting prior to deer hunting. He was a true friend to our family. I regret I didn’t revisit him after we moved to Kokomo maybe could visit you sometime Elma.
I am retired from GM and drive a school bus to mentor kids. Love model trains still play basketball
and bicycle riding. I work with children removed from abusive homes as a volunteer.
Love,

Sooooo many memories of Arnold-I'll share one special to me-Our first born-Angela had flipped herself off the scale-she was a month old-The Lord put Arnold at my door as I was holding Angela and crying..... Arnold's wise words "Don't worry, the good Lord made them to bounce." ? Imagine him praising his Lord and Savior especially on this Saint Triumphant Sunday. Sending you all Hieb hugs.

Dear Grandps,
Thank you just does not seem enough. Couldn’t there be a grander, bigger, fancier word for Thank you? I know there aren’t enough words to express my sincerest appreciations for all that you have given us. But I’m going to try to use a bunch of them. So bear with me.
Thank you for living your faith. For being a steadfast name in the book of life. For your dedication to St. John’s Church and schools. For being an example of faith for the rest of us.
Thank you for loving Grandma. For providing for her and keeping her safe for 77 years. For showing us what marriage is supposed to be. Marriage is tough, but you two made it look so easy.
Thank you for being adventurous and courageous. Learning to fly was one of your greatest personal achievements and an adventure for the rest of us. You never missed an opportunity to ride a roller coaster with us or take us for a log truck ride. You overcame terrible logging injuries against the odds. Your adventures hunting and fishing not only inspired memorable stories, but generations of outdoor enthusiasts. You were always the chauffeur for long trips across America, to major theme parks and cheesy tourist traps, in vans, trucks and campers. Staying at Mom and Papa motels and eating at truck stops were in an adventurous category of their own.
Thank you for all the stories. Life stories told hundreds of times, but always with meaning and heart. There were life lessons in each one. Thank you for wrecking countless movies and books, by telling the complete story with the ending. I know you just wanted to share them with us and that’s okay.
Thank you for being an example of a hard worker. Farming, logging, butchering, trapping, scrapping, all allowed you to provide for our family. Life experience was a great teacher.
Thank you for not hearing the things that would disappoint you, but listening to everything that made you proud.
Thank you being generous to others. For helping when you could. For endless prayers. For words of wisdom and criticism. For speaking your mind. For every hug and smile. For being a leader. For loving us even when we were less than lovable. For all you taught us.
Rest peacefully at the side of our loving Lord and Savior. Your memory lives on in our hearts for generations with love and respect.
With all my deepest love and respect
Barbara Anne
