My name is Bill Kiser same age as Shade who we all called him June. We grew up together in the hills of Pine Camp Virginia near Riverview, Va. We walked to school together and worked in the fields together. We grew up with no car, no bicycle , used well water and had no electricity in our young days. We lost contact after high school. He and I met when we were both in the US Army but I cannot remember at which Army post. I will miss mu childhood friend and neighbor. My God bless his great American soul.

Shade was a good friend, always willing to give help when needed. He and my husband Bill enjoyed many breakfasts together where they covered every subject under the sun. His shy smile and gentle wit will be long remembered. Our sincere condolences to Barbara, their son and family.

Some of us knew him as Uncle Drew. He was tender hearted under that stern exterior. Because of the distance we didn't see each other often, but I enjoyed good phone conversations with him in recent years. Two years ago in August he came to visit us in north Idaho (along with my two brothers and two cousins)--his first visit out West. We had a very special family time of sharing
memories and catching up. When we said good by, he cried and said he was afraid we might not see each other again. I told him that if we didn't see each other again down here, we'd see each other in Heaven. Due to his illness and passing, we will see each
other Up There! We sympathize with Barbara, his wife of almost 55 years, and his son Mark who was beside him in his final hours. We pray for comfort and peace for all of you. Clint and Judy Barnes (Judy McConnell Barnes - niece)
