Goodby old friend. You were one of the hardest working men I knew. Rest now and I'll see you up yonder. Doug

Aunt Jeannie and family, I am sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I hadn't seen him in years but he was by all accounts a fine and honorable, hard-working, family man. Please accept my condolences.

How many memories can I share ? Ray was a one of a kind person that knew about you even before he met you. He traveled all over Sister Lakes and the surrounding area and would stop at almost anything that peaked his interest and before you know he had a conversation going with the person or person who happened to be around. He was my parent"s neighbor and mine while I still lived at home. There were so many times after my folks closed the fruit market that we would come home from town and find a bunch of vegetables or fruit or sometimes jars of jam on the doorstep or right inside on the kitchen table. We always knew they came from Ray. We could look out the window from the house and see Ray out there working his garden (all though his garden was a small farm ) or riding the tractor in the field wearing that fishing hat. He seemed to always know when I came home to visit Mom and Dad and would come by, come in and have a cup of coffee and we would catch up with new about the people of SIster Lakes. When our parents died with six months of each other Ray and Jean were there with to to help us through some terrible times . They brought food and great stories and lots of laughter to help ease the pain. Those are the things that neighbors do when tragedy strikes. My only regret is that I cannot return the favor. I was home last August and Jean invited me to have dinner with them and we had a great meal (of course) and great conversations, But one of the last things Ray did was give me another jar of his Peach Jam to take home with me.
I still have just a little bit left and usually don't share it with the rest of my family.
To the Family I know your pain and I wish that you did not have to go through this, The loss I am feeling is only a little part of what you are feeling and I wish that I could take it away. Your Dad was a very dear friend and I going to miss him. My prayers and thought to all of you.

Ray, I will always remember your smile, it would make me smile every time. I will never forget when I was in charge of Youth Council and you helped the kids with the float and pulled it in the parade!
Whenever I see a garden I will think of you and your love of gardening and your ability to grow anything.
To the family, please know we are thinking of you at this difficult time and will be praying for you all.
