Peter G. Abel

Peter G. Abel, 64, of Three Oaks, MI, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.sommerfeldchapel.com  Peter was born at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA to the late Raymond and Grace (Graves) Abel. Peter was a lifelong resident of Methuen, MA. In 2015 he moved to Three Oaks, MI where he spent the last 2 years of his life. He was raised with his 11 brothers and sisters and worked at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA for 20 years as a chef. Peter was a huge Patriots fan and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Peter was a wonderful man who made everyone feel welcomed.  He is survived by his wife of 19 years Shannon Drier Abel; his son Eric (Jen) Abel and daughter Stacie Abel; and granddaughters Kayla Abel and Emily Hicks. He also leaves behind 8 brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He will forever be missed by those that were luck to know him.
