I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. Her mom, Mary, was my aunt. I have fond memories of coming to New Buffalo years ago and spending time with the family (sleeping on the screened-in porch was a special treat). My thoughts are with her family and community.

My deepest condolences to all of the family of Joan Weishaupt-Jones. She was a truly wonderful woman. I knew Joan from the time we went to Kindergarten together. She had a terrific sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Joan will always be part of my many happy memories growing up in New Buffalo. May she rest in peace knowing that she is eternally much loved by all of us whose lives she touched in such a special way.

Dear Beth & Family,
Your mom was a life-long friend. We graduated Kindergarten together, made our First Holy Communion together, and graduated together. She was the organist at my wedding. We go back at LONG ways. We've stayed friends throughout the years. Beth, you were the center of your mom's life along with the grandsons she loved so much. Beth, you couldn't have been a more devoted daughter. I'm glad her suffering is over and that she will have eternal life. She will be missed. My prayers and thoughts to Joan's entire family. Remember all the good times.

To Beth and Family,
Your mom was a life-long friend. We go way back. We were in kindergarten together, made our First Holy Communion together and graduated together. We remained friends through these many years. She was the organist at my wedding. We had great fun planning the 50th class reunion. I think we actually had a better time in planning than the actual reunion. Beth, you were the center of your mom's life along with the grandsons who she loved so much. Your mom couldn't have asked for a better daughter. Be proud of the fact that you and your family did so much to make your mom's life better. I'm glad her suffering is over and that she will rest in eternal peace. She will be missed!!! Prayers to all.

Beth & Family-
Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
I have many fond memories of Joanie--she was one of my mom's best friends. I would live for the times that she, my mom, and their other wonderful classmates would plan their class reunions. As a young girl, I can remember combing through the NBHS Class of 61' yearbook countless times. I always thought your mom was a beautiful lady with the most perfect complexion. Beth, you resemble her tremendously.
She was a classy lady, always well-dressed and neat as a pin. Her house was like a dollhouse.
Beth-I want to commend you and your extraordinary family. You have been a loyal, caring, thoughtful daughter who has traveled across the US countless times to ensure that your mother was safe, happy, and content.
As an RN, I know only too well that it takes a village to care for a debilitating adult, especially in their own home. I applaud your husband, and your HANDSOME and DIGNIFIED sons for making such an effort to keep her at home.
I want to also say that I know that her neighbors were also instrumental in your mom being able to stay at home for as long as she was able and I give them a standing ovation for tending to her minute-to-minute, wide-ranging personal needs. I am sure she took great comfort in knowing that she had angels living next door to her who would do anything they could to help her. They are truly special people and without them and you, your mom would have had to have been placed in a skilled nursing facility a long time ago. Give yourselves a pat on the back!!
I will be thinking of you during this difficult time.
Your friend,
Felicia (Webb) Stone

Dear Beth & Family,
Know that when the Lord calls our loved ones home He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Our memories of Joanie will long be remembered especially in her music and dedication to our choir art St. Mary of the Lake.We spent many hours together perfecting
the music for mass for the church we loved so much! I am sure she is now enjoying the
rewards in heaven she so deserves. She will truly be missed. We love you Joanie, rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I had the chance to meet your Mom/ Grandma. She was funny, stubborn, and had a huge heart. I can see a little bit of her in all of you. I am praying for your whole family. Hold tight to each other, your memories, and faith in Jesus Christ throughout this difficult time. I love you all!!

My Grandmother, Joan, was undoubtedly the most generous and sweetest soul I have ever had the fortune of knowing. In addition to her faithful service to St. Mary of the Lake church, serving the Lord who she now lives with eternally in heaven, my Grandma was the epitome of a good Christian servant. She would do anything for anyone whenever they needed it. She would give the shirt off of her back to her fellow neighbor. Although I am heartbroken that my Grandmother's physical presence can never be enjoyed again here on Earth, the generous manner in which she lived provided an example that I will strive to follow for the remainder of my life and I look forward to the day when I can be reunited with her again in heaven. We'll miss you Gram!
Thank you for all of the heartfelt condolences that have been posted on this page and on Facebook as well. They are much appreciated by her entire family!

Joan and I graduated Kindergarten in 1949 and high school in 1961 all in New Buffalo, and more importantly she was my senior prom date. Right now all I can think of is the many good times we had, I am going to miss her a lot. I cannot remember Joan ever speaking ill of anyone, she was a good example of how we should treat our neighbors. My thoughts and prayers for her family.

I'm so sorry to hear of your sister Joan's passing. She was a huge part of the City for many years. I often wished she was the mayor. She kept the City humming and ethical. May you have many good memories to remember her.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your sister, Beep. She was resiliant and courageous, and knew the real story behind a lot of city history.. She served the community of New Buffalo very well indeed. I think she would have made a good mayor.

My sister was born, worked and raised a beautiful daughter in New Buffalo. The City has lost a faithful employee. Our family has lost a person that would do anything for anyone of us. After many struggles in her life she is pain free in heaven. God’s plan. Until we meet again. Love you.

To Joan's family, I just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear that my mentor of many years ago has left us. I know she's enjoying the "endless ecstasy" of her heavenly home now. May the happy memories sustain you through this time of grief.
