LaVon Zelmer. Such a fine gentleman. I met LaVon as a boy of 5.My Father ,Johnny Wearing and Mother Margery Wearing were very close friends as a result of Barbershop Quartet singing. I vividly remember being no more than 6 and driving LaVons tractor that he had taught me to drive. Funny how a person can remember the good things from 62 years ago yet last week ? Nothing. I just want to know that whoever reads this will take note that LaVon and his wife at that time Carol were wonderful model people and remain in my memory .They always will. My brother Jonny and I both fell in cow manure at that farm.And the train in the wayback...I loved when we would stay weekends and hear the clickity clack of the train on it's tracks.By the way,LaVon got my Dad involved in Barbershop in 1956-57. Dad went on to win 3 District Championships and represented Michigan in the International Championships in 66,75 and 81. He became a Hall of Fame Member in 1996 . LaVon you did good.
