Oleta's Obituary

Oleta E. Winchester, 98, of Dowagiac, passed away at Timbers of Cass County on Saturday, May 26, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 1PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 12PM until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Federated Covenant Church. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.clarkch.com. Oleta was born on July 23, 1919, to Otis & Marth (Pippen) Quinn in Mantoon, IL. She graduated from Mantoon High School. Oleta married Phillip Winchester in Chicago, IL. She was a member of the VFW in Dowagiac, the Federated Covenant Church and the Art Gild in Dowagaic. Oleta was an artist, she enjoyed painting and embroidery. She also loved to read. Oleta is survived by her nieces & nephews, Connie & Kent Goodrich of Virginia, Stephen French, Gary & Benda French, James & Valarie French, Greg & Mary Janes, Brad & Mary Janes, Kim & John Hitt and Becky & Sean Moran; and special friends, Herb & Pat Ward of Dowagiac. Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Winchester; parents, Otis & Marth Quinn; and siblings, Elaine Quinn, Evelyn French and John Quinn.
