Dear Jim, Jackie, and Rod,
I am so sorry about the passing of your Mom.
For so many years, I only saw her briefly when she came east for a visit. It wasn't until I became involved with the "Trust", in the early years, that I was fortunate enough to spend time with her on the phone and began to get to know this wonderful woman.
We shared a love of nature. She never tired hearing about all the birds and wild critters in our yard and I so enjoyed sharing my stories about them. We tried to keep each other updated on everything through cards. But my favorite memory of her will be when Linda, Nancy and I came to visit in 2016. It was such a special time. She was such a vibrant person and all who knew her will certainly miss her. Whenever I think of her, I smile. What a wonderful legacy!
With much love, Marilyn

Dear Cousins:
I am so sorry and saddened by the passing of your Mom, my Aunt Jan. She was such a fantastic lady, and I know she will be missed by all who knew her. I have been thinking about all of the wonderful conversations she and I have had over the years. We spoke about so many things -- politics, life events and, of course, our family. She was my genealogy buddy with so many great stories and information to share with me about our ancestors. I will miss those conversations. I am so very glad I, along with Marilyn and Nancy, had the opportunity to come visit her (and you). Her beautiful, lively, and kind face will remain with me as a treasured memory forever.
Love,
Linda

I was saddened to hear of Jan's death. I extend my heartfelt condolences to each of you, Jim, Rod and Jackie. My experience is that you really begin to understand that you've really grown-up when your parents are gone.

We moved to Dowagiac in 1974, and though we hadn't yet met her, Jan was a very visible figure as she moved quickly about town, always on foot and always on the go. We got to know her when she became a customer of our one-man furnace maintenance and repair business, and also a loyal client of the exercise classes I taught for the COA in Dowagiac. Jan also enjoyed listening to our music when we played at events in the area. She had a positive attitude and was a good person to spend time with. We will miss her very much.
