Another passing of that Greatest Generation. Our sympathies to all of the Laing family. A classy, friendly, warm lady that I can remember from my earliest neighborhood memories. God Bless.

Bruce and Family, You have my condolence on the loss of your parents. I fondly remember both of them as a young boy growing up across the street. Your Mother always welcomed me into your home when I would stay overnight with you. May God bless you and your family.

The Laing family is such a wonderful and warm family. Barbara and D.Bruce will be missed greatly and they both leave behind a wonderful legacy of community service and most importantly kindness. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. I know they are in heaven watching Michigan basketball. It was our honor to know them.

Wonderful person who always loved the UP as much as we do. Sorry for your loss, but we know that she and Bruce are together again as they have been for so many years and this is a beautiful thing especially for the holiday period. They will be looking down on so many memories with the family. Peace to the entire family from the Poole's.

Although I didn't know Barb extremely well. I'll never forget the impression I had as a very young mother when she spoke to me in a "generous and kind" manner. This was not the case from others of her generation. The frosting on the cake was when she gave me the Laing buggy! It was like a Cadillac with shocks and all the bells and whistles. Not having a car, this made it possible for me to put my two baby boys facing each other in the big buggy and get downtown to the Kroger store for groceries. From reading her obituary, I realize now this was her way with whomever she came in contact. What a special woman Barb was; we need more people like her in the world. My condolences to Bruce, Anne, Mari & Jim and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
