When my son went in the hospital aunt Velma was also in the hospital I swung in to see her when ever I could. When she got out she came and helped me hold it together for several days I wanted to be sure she knew how much that meant to me I was given the opportunity and I was sure to let her know it. That act of kindness will stay with me the rest of my life. It was the darkest time in my life and she brought me light. I'll love her forever. I only wish we had the opportunity to know each other when I was younger. I love her so much and will truely miss her

To the family: I will always have good memories of Velma. One to share with you takes place on the farm. It’s June, and we have sour cherries, several acres of them to pick by hand. Mom Gast, Ed, Velma and myself are in the orchard and Velma is pregnant, she is there every day to work with us. It usually takes about a month to pick the orchard. The next year she comes with Eddie and a play pen to keep him in. We move that play pen to each tree so she can keep an eye on him. Oh, and she is pregnant. Again, she is there every day. The next year she comes with Eddie, Lisa and the play pen. She works one day. We all understood and the orchard was quiet. I will miss her. Aunt Val
