Bill's Obituary

William “Bill” Quincy Taylor II, 59, of Lawton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at his home. He was born June 4, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and BethAnn (Collier) Taylor. Bill was in the Decatur High School graduating class of 1983 and then went on to become a lifelong mechanic.

Throughout Bill’s childhood he worked alongside his father developing his mechanical abilities. His first job as a mechanic was during his teenage years at Sun Valley Auto Repair that was owned by his dad. Bill went on to work at the Chevrolet dealer in Decatur, MI after graduating from high school. In 1994, he began working at Knoll gas before moving on to Spiech Farms in Lawton, MI in 2011. Outside of work, Bill enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the NRA and an avid gun enthusiast. Above all else, his favorite pastime was making memories with his children and grandchildren. Bill never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family whether it be yearly holiday traditions, attending sporting events for his grandchildren, or sitting around laughing and sharing family stories at the campfire on Friday nights.

Bill is survived by his children, William (Kristin) Taylor III, Darci Taylor, Stephaney (Nathan) Haas, Matt (Emily) Taylor, and Kia Taylor, 9 grandchildren, his brother Robert Taylor, and sister Patti (Lyle) Crandall as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and BethAnn Taylor and his grandparents Quincy and Julia Taylor as well as Herbert and Bernice Collier.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur. Visitation with family and friends will precede the service from 11am to 1pm. Inurnment to follow at Harrison Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, www.shrinerschildrens.org.
