William A. (Bill) Stagg,78, of St. Joseph, MI passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
Bill was born on February 20, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio. to James V. and Lois (Dennison) Stagg. On July 24, 1964 he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Barbara L. Hughes in Evansville, IN. They were married for 58 years.
Bill was a Pilot/Captain for Whirlpool Corporation and Midway Airlines where he traveled the world and was fortunate enough to experience numerous amazing adventures. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, sailing, tennis, driving his various cars and of course watching the Green Bay Packers play. Bill was known as a great prankster by his friends and neighbors. If his mouth was moving, there was a good chance he was lying about something.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Stagg; son, William D. (Crystal) Stagg; daughter, Nancy P. (Christopher) Ranck; grandchildren, Alexander Douglas Meltzer-Stagg (favorite grandson), Abigail P. Ranck (favorite granddaughter); sister, Suzanne Stagg; nephew, Steve (Amy) Stagg; great-nephews, T.J, Luke and Jake Stagg; and other nephews and nieces.
Bill was preceded in death by his paternal parents and step-mother Geraldine Stagg; brothers, James Harold ("Doc") Stagg, Charles Stagg and nephew/godson Jimmy Stagg.
