William's Obituary
William Walter Dawson Jr (AKA Weegie) 58 of Lansing, MI passed away on October 15, 2022. He was born to William Walter Dawson Sr. and Susie Mae Brown in South haven MI, Weegie was baptized at an early age and later in life became a reborn Christian.
He attended Covert Public School although he didn’t finish, he went on and got his GED. Weegie loved to fish and spend time with his family, especially his nephew Cordell Dawson. If he had your number, “he would call you every day and tell you Jesus is coming get your life in order,” or he would say “Mega Millions is up there don’t forget to buy a ticket.”
He is preceded in death by both parent’s William Walter Dawson Sr. and Susie Mae Brown and one sister Dana Van Dawson.
Weegie is survived by one son Jason Bruton (Letisha Smith Bruton) of Lansing, MI five sisters Cornelia Mae Dawson of Holland, MI Michelle Rene Dawson of Lansing, MI Clarice Van (John Stenske) of Fort Worth, Texas, Marla Van Dawson of Lansing, MI Jacqueline Bessett Dawson of Grand Rapids, MI; three brothers Marlon Van Dawson of Lansing, MI Eric Van Dawson of Lansing, MI Mark Van Dawson of Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren - De’Mario, De’Martre, Talajah, Alalya Bruton, Lyric, Mirykal Fell; one great granddaughter Railynn all of Lansing, MI as well of a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousin brother-in law, and friends.

A Wake will be held at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, November 4th 2022 at Filbrandt Chapel 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
