Victor's Obituary

It’s with extreme sadness to announce the passing of Victor Garritano, 87 of Brooksville, FL.

Born May 13, 1934 to Antonio and Carmela (Malito) Garritano on their Farm in Dowagiac, MI. Though his body frail and tired, his spirit was full of grateful appreciation, to be to able to draw another breath every second he was graced on Earth. He lived on his terms and was happy to leave when the lord called upon him, surrounded by Joan his wife of 66 years, and children at his bedside.

Victor spent his career in Automobile Sales and eventually as Sales Manager for Signature Van Corporation. Often times, recognized as Salesman of Year, for Record Performance. It was often said of Victor, he could sell even the most difficult clients. Victor loved the challenge of remodeling his many homes. An avid Sports Fan (Go Irish) and a champion shuffle board player in his Florida community.
A member of the 246th Battalion of the National Guard, where he spent many enjoyable years of service. A longtime member of Holy Maternity Catholic Church of Dowagiac, and served as an Usher at Sunday Mass.

Victor married the love of his life Joan Dravis on June 18, 1955, the Father of 5 children, Michael of Brooksville FL, Kathy (John) Russom of Dowagiac MI, David of Augusta GA, Vicki of Kalamazoo MI, and Antonio (Tony)of San Antonio TX. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Chappell of Berrien Springs MI, and 1 brother Arnold Garritano of Dowagiac MI. They are the proud Grandparents of 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Friend may visit with Victor’s family on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5PM until 7PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11AM, at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 210 N Front St, Dowagiac, MI 49047. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, the Family request a donation be made in Victor’s name to HPH Hospice 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson FL 34667. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 269-782-2135.
