Vicki's Obituary
Vicki (Vickie) Storick, 68, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Corewell Health in St. Joseph after a long battle with cancer; surrounded by her loving family.
Vickie was born June 10, 1954, in Benton Harbor, MI to William “Oscar” & Helen (Zech) Trail. Raised in Eau Claire, she was a class of 1972 Eau Claire High School graduate. On July 29, 1973, she married Robert “Bob” Storick. Bob and Vickie met after being set up on a blind date; together, they proudly raised two daughters.
Vickie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob Storick; daughters Michelle (Jason) Figel, and Mandy (Johnie Jr.) Boone, both of Berrien Center; five grandsons Johnie (Carolyn) Boone III, Brennen (Jillian) Boone, Deven Wildeman, Brady Boone and Easton Figel; great grandson Jonnie Boone IV; and brothers Henry Trail and Dick Trail. Preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Helen Trail, brother Bill Trail, sister Ruth Modro and Shirley Sapp.
Vickie worked for both Harbor Graphics and Klug Farm. Artistic, optimistic, outgoing, and strong-willed, Vickie cherished her family and grandchildren. Winters with her husband in Arizona spent entertaining making new friends and memories, were an especially favorite time. She enjoyed shopping, baking zucchini bread, camping, and talking to anyone and everyone. Through teaching her family and grandsons, Vickie has passed on her love of gardening, canning, and knitting; recently making hats for all her family and friends. She also loved flowers, referring to them as “her therapy”.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 at the Berrien Springs American Legion Post 85, on North Bluff Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the City of Hope, Attn: Annual Giving, 1500 E. Duarte Rd., Duarte, CA 91010 or at cityofhope.org/cardsforhope.
