Pete's Obituary

Thomas E. “Pete” Morgan, 86, of Stevensville, passed away on Tuesday, October 4,
2022. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel &
Cremation Services. A private memorial celebration of life will take place at a later
date. Burial will be held at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Those wishing to leave an

Pete was born on January 6, 1936, in Holland, MO, to Tommie & Georgia (Baggett)
Morgan. In January of 1954, Pete enlisted in the United States Air Force where he
proudly served our country until October of 1957. On October 25, 1973 in Benton
Harbor Pete married Myrtle Imogene "Jean" Guin. For many years, he worked at
Paramount Die Cast until they closed in 1986. He later took a job for Roosevelt
Elementary School in Stevensville as Head Custodian until he retired in 1998.
Enjoying his retirement, Pete joined senior leagues for golfing and bowling. He
loved golfing so much he accomplished making 3 hole-in-one’s throughout his
lifetime. He also enjoyed attending car shows, listening to Elvis Presley and
watching old timey western movies.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Jean; children, Kenneth
(Elaine) Gaynor, Jr. of Watervliet, Holly (David) Closson of Benton Harbor, and
Blake Holmes of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Morgan (Brandon) Downey, Jack
Closson, Lindsey (Bryan) Williams, and Cheryl Jean "CJ" Holmes; six
great-grandchildren; and sisters, Barbara (Craig) Rose and Shirley Owens both of
Florida. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Gaynor; and
brother-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Owens.
