Thomas's Obituary
Thomas M. Colleary, 70, of Creal Springs, IL, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away on December 30, 2022. He was born on May 24, 1952 in Dolton, IL, the beloved son of the late James and late Ann (O’Donnell) Colleary. He was a devoted and loving caretaker to both of his parents.
He is survived by sisters, Nancy (Robert) Ashley and Kathleen (Michael) Kuhn; his dearest Uncle; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Tom served his country honorably as a U.S. Army Medic, and upon returning to civilian life worked in the Railroad industry. He decided to obtain his Mechanical Engineering degree from Southern Illinois University and continued working for multiple Engineering companies as a licensed Professional Engineer. He had a great love of the outdoors: often camping, pontooning and dabbling in log cabin designs.
Tom was a wonderful conversationalist. His witty and sometimes dry sense of humor was hilarious and will be greatly missed. One of his favorite pastimes was sending funny, thought provoking emails to his family and friends which always made us laugh. Tom served on the Knights of Columbus and donated often and generously to Our Lady of Fatima Foundation. He was a faithful servant and we will miss you forever, Thomas.
Friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, January 13, 2022 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Road, Dowagiac, MI, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Arul Lazar celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery where he will be laid to eternal rest next to his parents. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart of Mary Church.
