Terri's Obituary
“Weeping endures for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Ps 30:5).
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear” (I John 4:18).
Terri, our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend has left this imperfect earthly realm and entered her morning of joy surrounded by perfect love without any fear.

Terri was born on July 26, 1945, in Anjum, Netherlands to James & Ann (Hiemstra) Vander Wielen. In 1947, her family moved to Pretoria, South Africa where they lived for much of Terri’s childhood. Her family then came to the United States in 1956 and settled in the Midwest, where Terri graduated from Illiana Christian High School (1963) and from Calvin University (1967) with a Bachelors Degree in Education. 1967 also saw Terri’s marriage to Tom in Lansing, Illinois. Terri’s first miracle baby, Andrea, came along in 1980 in Redlands, CA, followed four years later by her second miracle baby, Mark, born in Colorado Springs, CO. Terri devoted her life to her husband and raising their children. She also enjoyed hosting exchange students, nephews, nieces and other friends for extended stays. In recent years, one of Terri’s greatest joys was spending “Beppe time” with her grandchildren. She loved playing Bridge and other games, cooking for family and friends, and watching and collecting Academy Award Winning films. Terri cherished time spent with her family and friends and traveling the world with Tom. Terri was a member of Lakeside Family Church in Stevensville.
Terri is survived by her husband Tom; her children—Andrea Jennine (Aaron) Patterson of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Mark Thomas Brandt of Austin, TX; five grandchildren—Brandt, Gwendolyn, Caroline Tess, Harvey & Penelope Patterson; two sisters—Edith (Leroy) Noble of Dyer, IN, Greta (Jim) DeKorne of Colorado, Springs, CO; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law—Loren (Carol) Brandt, Judy (Bill) Motman-Covert, Kathy Brandt, Ken (Barb) Wierda; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Sijbert Vander Wielen, and in-laws—Jim (Beverly) Brandt & Marcia Wierda.
