T.T.'s Obituary

Taneka McClellan, 32, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:30 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2022 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Bill Shepard officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Friday at the Church. Taneka was born March 8, 1990 in Gallatin, Tennessee to Moses H. McClellan IV & Kimberly Smith. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 2008 and attended Lake Michigan College, Western Michigan University, Southwestern Michigan College & Volunteer State Community College. Taneka was employed at United Parcel Service and at Comfort Suites in both Stevensville and Benton Harbor. She was a member of the First Church of God where she was active in Kids Zone, Vacation Bible School, Interpretive Dance, and the Praise and Worship Team. Taneka enjoyed music of all kinds and auditioned for American Idol. She also enjoyed traveling-especially cruises, cooking, baking, singing, family games and especially the time spent with her daughter.

Taneka is survived by her daughter Gianna Elizabeth McClellan, her mother and step-father-Kimberly & Jonathan Sullivan of Gallatin, TN; her aunt/mother- Daphne Elizabeth McClellan of St. Joseph; siblings-Joshua Amari Dixon, Mya Elizabeth Dixon, Peyton Elizabeth McClellan, all of St. Joseph, Hakeen Smith of Gallatin, TN; paternal grandfather-Moses Henry McClellan, III of St. Joseph; maternal grandparents Lucy (Ollie) Joquae of Gallatin,TN; special aunt Maddie Ann Christmas of Gallatin; aunts & uncles-Angela (Eric) Royer, Barbara Smith, Ronald (Linda) Malone, Marva Malone, Twanka Malone, Dale (Tina) Malone, Crystal (Bobby) Watkins, Millie (Ralph) Barksdale, Vera (Oddie) Anthony, Deloris (Terry) Braggs, Don & Ken McClellan; cousins-Jarrett Malone, Marvis (Amber) Malone, Victoria Malone, Thaddeus Malone, Blaze Malone, Luqman Mahdi, Andr’e Mahdi, Aisha (Alex) Mitchell, Felicia Lyles, Yosigo (Telisia) Lyles, Toneshia (Edward) Crenshaw and host of family & friends; her devoted friend Ernest Davis of Fairplain, MI. She was preceded in death by her Father, Moses McClellan, IV and Grandmother Elizabeth Paulette McClellan.
