Shirley Anne LoPresti, 84, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday November 9, 2021, at home.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware St., Benton Harbor, MI with Fr. John Tran officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00A.M. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Aide of Southwest Michigan, www.animalaidswmi.com. Shirley was born August 8, 1937 to Arthur and Margurete (Messal) Crossman in Benton Harbor, MI. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1955. Shirley first job was a “soda jerk” at Mawhinney’s. She worked for many years for V-M Corporation and retired as a cashier from Meijer after 17 years. Shirley was an avid golfer, she and her husband Jim spent many happy times at Pebblewood and Pipestone Creek, where she had a hole-in-one in 1978. Shirley also enjoyed bowling at Lakeshore Lanes, Blossom Lanes or Kelly’s bowling. She and Jim could be seen dancing the jitterbug at local clubs. Shirley’s favorite time was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Shirley is survived by her children Sheila LoPresti and son James LoPresti, her grandchildren; Cassidy, Dakota, Samantha, Isabella, Raigan, Corinne and Aria, brother; William Crossman. She was preceded in death by her husband James LoPresti, her son; Vincent LoPresti, siblings Arthur, Robert, Mary and Nancy; and her parents.
