Sarah's Obituary
Sarah Mae (Simmons) Trolinder, born July 18, 1955 to Ernest Lee Simmons and Theo Mandy Simmons, in East Chicago, Indiana. On April 6, 2022, she peacefully flew to heaven on angels wings from Rose Arbor Hospice House in Kalamazoo.
Sarah is survived by son Robert (Mariah) Trolinder, daughter, Amanda K. Trolinder and grandchildren, Angelina K. Trolinder, Elaina N. Trolinder and Josiah Trolinder. Sisters Sandy Legg, Elizabeth G. McIntosh, Patty (Doug) Gilbert and brothers Rob Roberts, Lawrence Simmons, many nieces, nephews, cousins and daughter from another mother Maria Machado Vaughn.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee Simmons, Theo Mandy Roberts, step parents, Ester Simmons and Big Gayle Roberts, grandson Izaiah M. Trolinder, sister Tammie Simmons, brothers Sammy (Bo) Simmons and Thomas Roberts. Also preceded by ex in laws Robert and Martha Trolinder and ex sister in law Rebecca Harris.
After Sarah’s prayers for a boy and a girl were answered she went back to Bangor High School later in life and received her diploma. Trucking was in her blood, she talked her oldest sister into going to truck driving school and received her CDL. Sarah loved her babies and stopped driving truck to be at home with them. She knew in her heart one day she would be back driving when the babies grew up.
Sarah worked and lived at Ma’s Coffee Pot for 16 years. She dearly loved her co workers and customers. Sarah never let the dream of truck driving fade away and went back to school, got her CDL again. She was bound and determined that even with everything life threw at her, loosing her own mother and then her sister that she was going to give her grandbabies a better life.
Her dream was short lived when she had a stroke. Her survival was a miracle from Jesus and pure stubbornness, with the help of many people she finally got back on her feet and lived on her own for many years.
Sarah moved to Countryside, staying until they closed. She enjoyed making friends, playing bingo, doing crosswords, watching tv and putting puzzles together. She then moved to Meadow Woods in Bloomingdale, along with best friends, Phyllis, Robin and David. The transition was rough but she lived her “best life ever”, in the bed, playing bingo, winning stuffed animals and her favorite watching tv. Sarah was full of love and a grace that she gave to everyone who knew her, to be one to receive her love was a true blessing.
Memorial Visitation for Sarah will be at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan, Monday, April 11, 2022 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Steve Daley will officiate. In leu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel-Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. 269-637-0333.
