Sandra J. “Sandy” Baushke, 80, of Auburndale, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Hanson Hospice Center.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11AM, Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Nathan Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with Sandy’s family on Thursday from 10AM until the time service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hanson Hospice Center, 4382 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI 49127 or Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Drive, MBC-Found Tampa, FL 33612. Sandy was born on October 25, 1942, to Elmer & Sophie (Schuhknecht) Mast in Benton Harbor. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and then started working as an Administrative Secretary for Whirlpool for over 30 years before her retirement. On March 25, 1966, Sandy married Kenneth “Bill” Baushke. They were happily married until his passing in 2012.
In Sandy’s spare time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching her favorite soap operas and going to the casino. She had a passion for cooking and was often found asking “What can I make for you?” Her most cherished time was spent with her family and dear friends.
Sandy is survived by her children, Scott Brady of Stevensville, Gary (Kimmberly) Brady of South Haven, Kenneth (Jill) Baushke III of Berrien Center, Mary (Dave) Zaleski of Southfield, MI and Cheri Hendrix of Stevensville, MI; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend Ken Zielke of Baroda.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Douglas Hendrix.
