Ross's Obituary

Ross Edward McNicholas, died peacefully on April 6, 2023 at home on Hospice Care. Born July 13, 1940 to Edward and Dorothy McNicholas in Chicago Illinois.

Early in life the family moved to Breedsville, Michigan. Ross graduated from Bangor High School in 1960. He then attended college in Akron Ohio where he studied Rubber Technology. In 1960 he married Alice Williamson and was blessed with 4 children; Kenneth (Sharon)McNicholas, Mark (Dawn) McNicholas, Kevin McNicholas and Lisa Nelson, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ross worked for the South Haven Rubber Co/Trelleborg Rubber for 50 years as a lab manager-chemist. He was a proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 26 years helping run the Auxiliary Station in South Haven. Ross was also a member of the Elks and the Moose Club. After retiring he worked in transportation for 10 years at the Walt Sicard Car Company. He enjoyed hunting and belonged to the Boniface Hunt Club in the Upper Peninsula. Ross also participated in Mooresville Civil War Days reenactments every fall in South Haven. He dearly loved his little dog Rudy who was by his side when he passed away.

Memorial Visitation for Ross will be held, Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Basil Catholic Church 513 Monroe Blvd., South Haven, Michigan from 11 am. Until the time of the Memorial Mass at 12 p.m. Fr. Richard Altine will officiate. Ross will be laid to rest privately at Lakeview Cemetery. In leu of flowers please make donations to Caring Circle Hospice or St. Basil Catholic Church.
