Rosetta's Obituary

Rosetta Harrell, 91, formerly of South Haven, Michigan passed away on, July 25, 2022 at home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on November 18, 1930, in Holcomb, Mississippi to Andrew Ross and Hosiebell Evans. United in marriage to the late Jimmie Harrell on July 22, 1952 in Grenada, Mississippi.

Rosetta is survived by her, 5 sons – Charlie (June) Harrell of South Haven, Mi. Stanley (Sandra) Harrell of Brooksville, Florida and Grayling Harrell of Las Vegas Nevada. 2 step sons George (Hope) Hasan of South Haven, MI and Kenneth (Christina) Calhoun of Kalamazoo and daughter Gloria Harrell of Las Vegas, Nevada and a special son Sondre (Toyna) Nichols of Chicago, 30 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by Siblings, Dorothy (Aaron) Cobbs, Roxie Brown, Hosie Martin and Verna Ross.

Rosetta is preceded in death by husband of 52 years, Jimmie Harrell, daughter, Rosita Aldridge, brother Shannon (Annie) Ross, Andrew (Drew) Ross and Robert Ross. Sisters Gladys Holloway and Massolet Echols.

Rosetta worked as an inspector at Bohn Aluminum in South Haven for 21 years. She served for over 20 years at Second Baptist church of South Haven. Later she joined First United Baptist Church of Kalamazoo MI.
Rosetta loved to cook and was good at it. She is probably known best around South Haven for her dressing and her butter roll, all were welcome at her table.
What people may not know is that she loved working word puzzles, but what people do know is that she loved to gamble. In her early days she played cards, tunk was her game. Later in life, she became one of the little old ladies seen at the casino.

Rosetta was a blessed lady who loved life and gave love and will always be remembered.

Visitation for Rosetta will be at Spiritual Church of Christ, 913 Kalamazoo St. South Haven Michigan, 49090, on Friday, October7, 2022 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 p.m. Pastor Lenzy E. Bell and Pastor Cobbs will officiate. Rosetta will be laid to rest with her husband Jimmie at Lakeview Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation.
