Ron was born November 13, 1931 in Oak Park, IL to Clarence & Libbie (Solle) Jacobs. While in college, Ron was a member and served as President of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and stayed active with the alumni association. Ron’s career was in the petroleum industry, first as a petroleum engineer and later as General Counsel with Getty Refining & Marketing Co. in Tulsa, retiring in 1988.

Following retirement, Ron and Betsy moved full time to their summer home in Sister Lakes, Michigan, and loved sailing, entertaining, and traveling. Ron was an active member of Fairplain Presbyterian Church in Benton Harbor, serving as an Elder and singing in the choir. It brought him great joy to volunteer in his community. He was a long-time member and frequent officer of the Sister Lakes Lions Club. Having served more than 20 years on the Keeler Township Planning Commission and the Board of Review, he recently received special recognition from the State of Michigan for his many years of service to the Keeler community.
