Ronald's Obituary
Ronald J. Fox, age 66, a resident of Benton Harbor, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and passion that touched the lives of many.
Ron was born on January 6, 1957, to Thomas and Blanche (Patterson) Fox in Elizabeth, PA. He attended Elizabeth Forward High School before pursuing higher education at Penn State University, where he earned a degree in turf grass management and later achieved the credentials of Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGSC). On October 4, 1980, Ron united in marriage with Christine Fox, in Elizabeth, PA.
Ron's childhood was spent on the golf course, observing his father, a golf course superintendent. This early exposure ignited Ron's lifelong passion for turf grass management. He dedicated four decades to this field, becoming a revered industry leader. Ron’s devotion to his craft and natural leadership abilities led him to become a golf course superintendent, just like his father. In his most recent role as an independent agronomist, Ron continued to make significant contributions to the industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ron was known for his unwavering drive and strong work ethic, applying himself wholeheartedly to every task he took on. He recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by obtaining a student pilot's license, successfully completing over 30 assisted flights in West Michigan. However, his greatest passion in life was undoubtedly his family. Ron cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine Fox, and their devoted children: Ashley (Joshua) Milani, Jessica (Drew) Alwood, and Stephen (Melanie Flores) Fox. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren: Kinsley, Easton, Lincoln, and Kennedy. Ron's memory will be forever cherished by his siblings: Carole (Roger) Rittenhouse, Linda (Dennis) Ault, and Thomas (Rosemary) Fox.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Blanche Fox. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of both Ron and Madie Flores, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
