Robert's Obituary
Bob was born June 1, 1959, in South Haven, Michigan, the son of LeRoy “Bud” and Shirley (Iliff) Slaughter. Bob loved his family and the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter, and he loved to fish with his son, Jacob. Bob could be found outdoors especially in the fall. With his love of the outdoors, he worked most of his life in construction. He was a union carpenter and owned his own construction business. He also drove truck to deliver FEMA trailers after hurricane Katrina. His skilled hands could accomplish anything he set his mind to, and he took immense pride in his craftmanship. One of his proudest achievements was the construction of their dream home in which he and his wife Cinda just celebrated 37 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Cinda (Fletcher) Slaughter whom he married October 11, 1986; three children Betsy (Ryan) Fuzi of Kaleva, Michigan; Callie (Edward) Grove III of Montross Virginia; Jacob Lee Slaughter of Dowagiac, Michigan; 8 grandchildren Brett Adams, Jalie Juers, Donovan Juers, Angella Porter, Erin Porter, Schuyler Saylor, Cameron Huffman, and Kaleb Huffman; and 11 great grandchildren; his mother Shirley of Dowagiac; brother, Jim (Beckey) Slaughter of Sister Lakes, Michigan; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, his sister Deborah Antisdel, his niece Erinn Antisdel, and his great grandson Riley Taylor.
