Riley's Obituary

Riley P. Johnson, 28, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 in St. Allis, WI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 14, at 1 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with a private family burial taking place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 13, from 1 PM until 3 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Seven Star Animal Rescue & Sanctuary. Riley was born January 31, 1994, in St. Joseph to Todd & Vicki (Lee) Johnson. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2012. He continued his education by attending Elmhurst College where he played for their football team for a short time. After returning to St. Joseph, Riley coached baseball for Eau Claire, Berrien Springs, and Benton Harbor High Schools. He loved watching and cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams and of course Notre Dame. Any time he was able to spend with his friends he would always take advantage of it even if it meant going to University of Michigan games. He loved listening to music of all kinds, playing fantasy football with his friends and spending time with his loving dog, Ziggy. He was known by his mother as her “golden hearted child” and everyone who knew Riley appreciated his huge heart, he will truly and deeply be missed by all who knew him.

Riley is survived by his parents Todd “Pops” & Vicki Johnson; brother, Ryan (Caitlin) Johnson of St. Joseph; niece & nephew, Parker & Joel Johnson; aunts & uncles, Jeff & Tammy Lee, Sherry (Todd) Hiler, Susie (Dan) Sutter, Kelley Danos, Kym (Bill) Spears, Tim Johnson, Chris (Judi) Johnson, Heather Johnson; grandparents, Pat & Kayte Lee, Linda Holm, Marcus & Brinda Johnson, and Carol & Burt Weisberg; numerous cousins; and many great and loyal friends.
