Dick's Obituary
Dick McKibben, age 84, died peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo, MI on Friday, December 16, 2022 with his family by his side.
Dick was born July 26, 1938 to Eldon and Clara McKibben in Grand Junction, MI. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1956 and served in the US Army, returning home in 1963. The majority of Dick’s working years were spent at his machine shop in Grand Junction.
Dick’s free time was spent traveling with his wife, Claudia, whether it be in the 1948 Willys Jeepster he restored, camping through Michigan or heading to Texas for the winters in their motorhome. They enjoyed many years and many miles at car shows, vacations and cruising town in the Jeepster. For over 15 years they would travel to Kerrville, TX and spend their winters at Buckhorn Lake Resort.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia of South Haven, MI; children Rick (Kim) McKibben of Evart, MI; Mike (Dana) McKibben of Darlington, SC; Jeff (Kelly) McKibben of Grand Junction, MI; Amy Jo (Mike) Seifert of Hamilton, MI; Dave (Cathy) Sanford of Marshall, MI; Monica (Dave) Harrold of Jackson, MI, Mary Ellis of Grand Junction, MI; 13 grand-children and 5 great grand-children.
Memorial Visitation for Dick will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 South Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan, from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Pastor Eric Jarvis will officiate. In leu of flowers please make a donation to Rose Arbor Hospice.
