Richard Mak, 86, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 9, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 609 Court St., St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph or Caring Circle Hospice. Those wishing to share a memory of Richard online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
Richard was born September 23, 1937 in St. Joseph, MI to Martin Sr. & Anna (Curven) Mak. Richard served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963. On December 6, 1963 he married Donna Nail in St. Joseph, MI. Richard worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 42 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevensville American Legion, FOP Lodge 96 and the Blossom Lanes Bowling Association. Richard also enjoyed reading, puzzles and going to the casino.
Richard is survived by his nieces Connie Peterson and Cindy Zachary; and brother-in-law George Larry (Sharon) Nail.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings Martin Mak Jr., Arthur Mak, Anna Goldner, Thelma Mak and Ellen Mak and nephew David Mak.
