Rhonda's Obituary

Rhonda Lee Dent, 62, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, July 9 at her daughter’s home with surrounded by family with love and care.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 24, 2023 at Anchor Church of God, 5020 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Rev. Marc Danapilis officiating. Friends may visit with the Family at the Church, one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations in Rhonda’s name may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service or Caring Circle Hospice. Rhonda was born April 5, 1961 in St. Joseph to Larry & Carol (Astopenia) Freeman. She graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1980, and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Rhonda worked as a CNA at several different facilities across the country, most recently at Crown Pointe of Stevensville. Rhonda wore many different hats over the years. She worked as a server in the restaurant industry, owned her own restaurant-Jasmine’s Restaurant in Watervliet for several years, and owned Rhonda’s Glow in the Dark, both in the late 1980’s. Rhonda enjoyed spending time with her many friends listening to live music, soaking up the sun on her favorite beach, tending to her horses, and most of all, the time spent with her loving family.

Rhonda is survived by her children-Holly Marie Seay-Pelak (Matthew Seay-Pelak) , Jasmine Renee Punches (Seay) (Jonathon Lee Punches), Thomas William Seay III (Paige Seay) grandchildren-Paisley and Malana Van Dusen, LilyAnn Seay-Palak, Octavia Seay, Lily and Isabelle Punches; Father Larry Freeman Sr.; siblings-Laurie Whitaker (David Whitaker) Larry Freeman (Lisa Freeman), Greg Freeman (Tina Freeman); nieces & nephews-Logan Freeman, Leticia Vallejo, Krystal Shea (Catania) ( Kyle Shea); and great nieces & nephews-River, Isaac, Kristine, Kali, Zack and Mykyna . She was preceded in death by her mother & stepfather Carol Ann Mahler (Astopenia), James Frank Mahler, her sister Susan Kaye Meseraull, and a nephew Richardo Antonio Vallejo, Jr.
