Richard was born on August 26, 1953 in St. Joseph to Adam & Erna (Wokeck) Sing. He grew up on the family farm in St. Joseph and graduated from Lakeshore High School, Class of 1971. On November 18, 1972 he married the former Cindy Buller at First Church of God in St. Joseph, where they both were raised. They attended Anderson College in Anderson, IN for a year. They also attended and were associated with the Blue Roof Church. Richard completed his ministerial studies at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry.

Richard pastored five different churches over the past forty years. He was an ordained Assembly of God pastor and was currently the minister at Twelve Corners Community Church. He was very passionate to have the new Church building completed and was thankful and blessed when it happened. He was incredibly blessed by his church family and he and Cindy would have been at the church for 20 years this coming Fall. He was currently working on the completion of the new Fellowship Hall. Richard and Cindy also had a nursing home ministry quite a few years ago at the Willows (formerly Golden Place) in St. Joseph that spanned 8 years. Richard also worked outside of the church, at various companies over the years. The three most recent were for Bangor Plastics, the family-owned business in Bangor, MI, started by Richard's grandfather Emil Wokeck in 1944. He worked the past few years in sales for Wittmann Battenfeld and for M&E Plastics. Richard always said he worked his secular jobs to support his "preaching habit".

In his free time, Richard cherished the time spent with his family at home or on special outings. He enjoyed Lake Michigan and its beaches and spectacular sunsets, God’s Canvas. He also enjoyed attending car shows, spotlighting both vintage and newer models. Richard was a people person and could talk at great lengths about just about anything. He did not know a stranger. His family, church family, friends, fellow pastors and work associates were very important to him. Richard was everyones dad, grandpa or friend. He was kind, compassionate, remarkably loving, amazing and truly caring.

Richard is survived by his loving wife and best friend of forty-nine years-Cindy Sing; his children-Rebecca Sing of Grand Rapids, Jeremy (Christa) Sing of Berthoud, CO, Rachel (Todd Bythrow) of North Port, FL; six grandchildren-Celeste (Mathew) Bell, Jacob & Noah Bythrow, Adam & Nina Sing, Brianna Deurloo, two great-grandchildren-Wyatt & Weston Bell; two brothers-Larry (Kim) Sing of Mattawan, David Sing of Sodus; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by sister-Margo Sing & brother Ted Sing.

Richard's mission in life was to lead others to Christ and he modeled that well.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
