Ray was born on December 24, 1938, to Adolph, Sr., and Anna (Berk) Loikits. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1957. While attending St. Joseph, he met the love of his life, Anne Steele. On October 24, 1959, they were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, and Ray treated her as a princess for the next 63 years.
Professionally, he worked as a mason and brick layer. First with Pearson Construction and eventually starting Loikits Construction. Many homes and businesses in St. Joseph and the surrounding areas still display his work.
Ray was a Christmas Eve baby, and enjoyed all things Christmas. He loved any kind of moving, singing, loud Christmas toy, enjoyed giving more than receiving and helped everyone he could. In his younger years, Ray played softball with Trinity Lutheran. He also coached basketball through Trinity as well as softball through the Elks League where he was a member. Ray especially enjoyed golfing, participating in the Elks League until last summer. He also held a lifetime membership with the F.O.P. #96, St. Joseph.
Ray is survived by his wife, Anne Loikits; daughter, Pamela (Richard) Stebbins; son, Todd Loikits; grandchildren, Rachael (Jacob) Billingsley, Ryan (Melissa) Stebbins, Jordan Loikits and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph, Sr. and Anna Loikits; best friend and sister, Norreta (Joseph) Pinciauskas and brother, Adolph Loikits, Jr.
