Randall's Obituary
He was born on May 30, 1966 in St. Joseph, MI, the son of John and Mary (Wilcox) Pielemeier. Randy was a 1985 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a graduate of Andrews University. On October 3, 1992, he was united in marriage to the former Kitty Weston.
Randy was a long time employee of what is now known as Charles River Laboratory in Mattawan. Through his work he gained many acquaintances and lifelong friends. He was a long time member of The Academy of Surgical Research and was proud of the work that his team accomplished. In addition to his work, Randy was also active in the horse industry, training many students to ride over the past 40 years. Most recently he was the mastermind for The Chardon Valley USEA Horse Trials and Derbys in Decatur, MI. Randy trained numerous students over the years to jump, many of whom have gone on to successful careers of their own.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years – Kitty Pielemeier; daughter – Katherine Pielemeier; five siblings – William Pielemeier, Lisa (Dennis) Stambach, Jan (Michael) Bosko, Rolf (Geri Smith) and John David Pielemeier; and four nephews – Jesse (Slyvia) Stambach, James (Kim) Bosko, Mark Bosko and Paul Bosko.
Honoring Randy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration Of Life will take place at the V.F.W. Post 6248, 560 N. Phelps St, Decatur, MI on Sunday, November 26 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. A light lunch will be available while we gather and share memories of Randy’s amazing but way too short life. In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary donations be made to The Glioblastoma Foundation or a charity of your choice.
