Ralph's Obituary
Ralph W. Hines, age 88, of Berrien Springs, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. He was born on May 2, 1934, to Raymond and Elizabeth (Reid) Hines in Evergreen Park, Illinois. On April 22, 1982 he married the former, Yvette Peuvion, and they have spent 41 loving years together.
A Celebration of Ralph’s life will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Berrien Center Bible Church (8830 M-140 Berrien Center, MI 49102) at 11:00 AM. For a more lasting memory, donations in Ralph’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or Berrien Center Bible Church. Ralph will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
Ralph was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Augustana College, where he met Ingrid, the mother of his three children. He loved his family and adored spending time with all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a 35-year resident of Berrien Springs and made a great effort to be part of the community. He served Berrien Township as both Trustee and Supervisor over the years. He was a very involved member of his church; serving as a teacher in Sunday school classes as well as mission trips to places like Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. Ralph was very adventurous and enjoyed biking, hiking, fishing, running, camping, boating and waterskiing.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Yvette Hines; children, Barb (Matt Minarck) Hines, Bob (Patti) Hines; step-children, Christine, Michael (Carolyn); eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; son-in-law, Darrell; brothers, Robert, Raymond, and Richard Hines
