Pat's Obituary
Priscilla Kipps Smith (known as Pat) was born on August 6, 1929 in Shenandoah County, VA and passed away on August 4, 2023. Pat was the daughter of Geneva Kipps Bushong. Pat is preceded in death by her husband Milton Garnett Smith (known as Garnett).
Pat married Garnett in 1951 and had a daughter, a son and 3 grandchildren who she enjoyed spending time with. Pat has 1 sister who lives in Shenandoah County, VA and 1 sister who preceded her in death.
Pat met her husband, Garnett on a blind date at a skating rink in Falls Church, VA and the rest is history. Pat worked as an accountant for private companies in Virginia until 1977, when Pat and Garnett moved to Conway SC. There she worked as an accountant until she retired and moved to Florence SC in 1996. In addition to her jobs, throughout her lifetime she was also a Model, Housewife, Homemaker and an expert Seamstress. Starting from a very young age, she made household items, her own clothes, as well as clothes for both her son & daughter up until they were in Middle School. Pat continued sewing until her mid 80’s, using her 1951 Singer Sewing machine. She has graced many of her family and friends with her sewing creations.
Pat and Garnett enjoyed camping vacations with the family in Myrtle Beach SC. They started out in a tent when their children were very young and eventually moved up to a Camping Trailer. During their retirement years, they would take their Camping Trailer to Florida, where they would enjoy the warm weather during the winter months.
Pat had a strong belief in God and read scripture every morning, while sitting at her kitchen table enjoying the hummingbirds that came to the window feeder. Pat attended Greenwood Baptist Church in Florence, SC, where Pat and Garnett became close with many of the parishioners at the church. She also volunteered her time for many years at the Manna House and Meals On Wheels in Florence SC.
Pat would want her family and friends to celebrate a life well lived.
Services will be scheduled at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia, where Pat will share a cremation niche with Garnett.
