Paul's Obituary
Paul Malcolm Allen, age 97, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023 at Provision Living in St. Joseph, MI. He was born on June 21, 1926, to Arthur and Catherine (Williamson) Allen in Boston, Massachusetts.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Captain, earning him the honor to be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. After his retirement from the Navy he went on to become the Chief Deputy Director of Social Services for the State of Michigan for many years.
A memorial service for Paul will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church (609 Court Street) at 3:00 pm, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memory, donations in Paul’s name can be made out to either Lutheran Bible Translators or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Allen of Mission, Texas; daughters, Monica (Patrick) Allen Perin, Ruth (David) Snyder, Anita (John) Meyer, Catherine (Charles) Kruggel; grandchildren, Sarah Snyder Zhang, Micah Snyder, Isaac Meyer, Paul Kruggel, Luke Kruggel; great granddaughter, Zivah Zhang; and half sister, Doris Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 57 years, Vila Lorraine Allen; and brother, Fred Allen.
