Patricia A. Casey, 82, of Niles, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 1:00PM, at Clark Chapel with Rev. Paul Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Berrien Center. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Cancer Service. Patricia was born January 26, 1941, in St. Joseph, to Richard and Vivian (Bowers) Kennedy. She graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1959. On October 31, 1960, she married the love of her life James Casey. Jim and Pat raised four children, and brought them up in the Church with strong Biblical, Christian faith.
Patricia graduated from Southwestern Michigan College in 1982, where she earned her degree in nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, working at South Bend Osteopathic Hospital and Cass County Medical Facility. Patricia had a strong faith in God, she enjoyed being involved in her church working as a Sunday school teacher, Youth leader, Worship team singer, and more. Patricia would read through the Bible each year, sometimes more than once. She did this until her eyesight began to fail her. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and reading. Most of all she loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by her children, Rabecca Stark, Wanda Price, Jim Casey and Wendy (Michael) Kendrix; grandchildren, Corey (Kelly) Price, Kayli (Paul) Hodge, Ryan Casey, Nate (Gaby) Price, Jake Weldy, Casey (Danny) Valladarez, Bethany (Glenn) Hammond, Michaela (Seth) Simmons, Gabbie Casey, Chrystal Kendrix, Steven Casey, Arica Kendrix and Alexis Kendrix; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Annmarie, Bradley, Maddie, Chandler, Emmy, Lucas, Maverick, Jalen, Roman, Oakley and Noah; sisters, Sharon Northrop and Bonnie Gentry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
