Patricia Ann Burr
February 7, 1942 - August 5, 2024
On the morning of August 5th, 2024, Patricia Ann Burr passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 82. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by her family and community.
Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert G. Burr, along with her four children: Kelley Burr of South Haven, Michaun ClayWard of California, Michael Clay of New Mexico, and Christine Rogers of Tennessee. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Cook and Elmer Moore, her stepfather Harold Cook, and two siblings.
A 1959 graduate of Richmond High School, Pat worked as a secretary at Kingscott Associates Architects in Kalamazoo for many years. In 1999, she and Bob moved to South Haven, where she was actively involved in the preservation and development of the Depot Party Store, Depot RV Park, the Caboose Inn, and a small marina. Pat also served as First Lady of South Haven during Bob's eight years as Mayor, contributing to the community she loved.
In her personal time, Pat enjoyed cooking, tending her flower gardens, watching Lake Michigan sunsets, and spending winters in Florida and New Mexico. Her ashes will be spread in the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a place that held special meaning for her.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at the South Haven Moose Lodge on September 21st, 2024, at 6 PM and all are welcome to attend. Kindly share your thoughts on the family's online guestbook at www.starksfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Filbrandt Chapel of Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation services, 269-637-0333.
