Nancy's Obituary
Nancy Mae Robandt of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Nancy will now be able again to enjoy her morning coffee and evening Old Fashions with her life-long companion, Bill. Nancy was born September 8, 1934 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Lewis and Mabel (Downs) Odell. She graduated from St. Joseph High School class of 1953. On November 7, 1953, she married William Frank Robandt in St. Joseph. Nancy was a homemaker raising three children, Monica, Mark and Lisa and was fondly known as Nana to her grandchildren Lissa, Cory, Kasi and Mazi and her great-grandchildren Clara, Owen, Will and Lily. She was a life-long member of St Peter’s United Church of Christ in St. Joseph and served on the Women’s Fellowship Committee. Nancy and Bill could be found sailing “Inspiration” with family & friends into the many ports on Lake Michigan. Nancy was very proud of the home she and Bill designed & built in St. Joseph.
Nancy is survived her daughter Monica (J.W.) Magner of St. Joseph; four grandchildren-Lissa (Jeremy) DeFord, Cory Magner, Kasi Heppler & Mazi Heppler; four great-grandchildren Clara & Owen Deford, Will & Lily Magner; her sister Carole Smith of St. Joseph, sister-in-law Betty (Bob) Brenner of North Port, MI; and her feline companion Sasha. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean Goodwin, brother Dennis Odell, her husband Bill on December 8, 2011.her son Mark Robandt, daughter Lisa Heppler on September 5, 1994, and a grandson Cody Wesner on February 14, 1988.
In honoring Nancy last wishes no funeral services are being planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
