Nancy L. Gousetis, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away, Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Caretel Inns of St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Joshua Bishop officiating. Nancy was born June 5, 1947 in Chicago to George & Marjorie (Thalmann) Wagner. Her family moved to Southwest Michigan when she was very young, she graduated from Eau Claire High School, Class of 1965 and attended Lake Michigan College. On December 26, 1970, she married Spero Gousetis in Eau Claire. Nancy spent forty years with the department of corrections, first with Berrien County followed by the State of Michigan, retiring in 2007. Nancy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church & the Eau Claire Bag Ladies. She served as the secretary to the St. Joseph Township Neighborhood Watch group for many years. She and Spero enjoyed traveling across the United States, one of her favorite places being Las Vegas, as well as the local casinos. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew & loved her.
Nancy is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Spero; two sons-Tony (Kristina) Gousetis, Andy (Beckie) Gousetis, both of St. Joseph; six grandchildren-Elizabeth, Olivia, Tyler, Ethan, Chase & Reese; her sister Sharon (Steve) Ward of Eau Claire; her brother Duane (Suzanne) Wagner of Benton Harbor; her brother-in-law Nick Gousetis of Hartford; and numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents George & Marjorie Wagner.
