Murray began working for his father at Miller Equipment a farm implement dealership which later sold Buick automobiles in Baroda. He was a truck driver and later supervisor of the repair shop. Being a hard worker, Murray later owned and operated his own farm, growing grain and grapes for National Grape Co-op. In his spare time, he liked to hunt deer and fish for salmon and bass. He and Lois spent many winters at their home in Lake Wales, Florida making numerous new friends. They also traveled, taking cruises to the Caribbean and many trips to Alaska with family and friends.
