Mike's Obituary
Michael A. “Mike” Hutzman, 85, of St. Joseph, formerly of Livonia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by love.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 1PM, at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., S. Joseph, with Pastor Chris Spitters officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle Hospice, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph or First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Mike was born on December 24, 1937, to Michael & Irene (Wisniewski) Hutzman in Hamtramck, MI and was baptized in the Hungarian Lutheran Church in Detroit. He graduated from Hamtramck High School. Following school, Mike was honored to be in Minor League Baseball as the pitcher for a year in Florida. After a knee injury ended his baseball dream, he began his career as a Line Technician working for Michigan Bell telephone company and moved up to an Audit Supervisor traveling the country before enjoying his retirement.
Mike was a partner at the First Church of God- St. Joseph. Since his retirement Mike had been an avid golfer, even getting a hole-in-one in Livonia. Mike never lost his love for baseball watching the countless games his family played and he could often be found watching televised Golf or Baseball. He enjoyed spending time in nature, sitting on the swing watching wildlife in his backyard or sitting on a bench at Silver Beach watching the waves, he found peace spending time outdoors. Mike was a die-hard University of Michigan fan and was usually seen sporting the U of M maize and blue.
Mike is survived by his significant other Gail Trosin and her family, who were blessed to have been loved by him; Mike’s grandson Ryan (Nicole) Jones; and great-granddaughters, Kelsea, Kenzie, Kylie Jones and another one on the way.
