May L. Bucher, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away, Monday, July 11, 2022 at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

May was born October 5, 1934 in Greeley, Missouri to John & Anis (Dodson) Stricklin. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, Class of 1953. After moving to St. Joseph, May attended Lake Michigan College and gained employment with Benton Harbor Engineering, where she worked until their closing. She then worked for several years at Whirlpool Corporation, and finally for Lakeland Medical Center in the foot clinic from where she retired. May most recently volunteered her time with Paws of Hope in Stevensville. May cherished the opportunity to spend the weekend in Chicago to attend one of Terry’s outdoor concerts at Ravina, and the picnic with family and friends preceding.
May is survived by her son Terry (Robert Schramm) Bucher of Chicago; nephews-David Stricklin & Jack Stricklin Jr.; and great-nephew Andrew Stricklin. She was preceded in death by two brothers-Lawrence Stricklin & Jack Stricklin, Sr., her niece Linda Stricklin and her former husband Hudson Bucher.
