Maxine Emma Scott, 95, of Niles, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Long Acres Adult Foster Care in Buchanan after a long battle with dementia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 2:00PM, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac, with Vern Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow and Dewey Lake Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Maxine’s name may be made to the North Wayne Mennonite Church. Those wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com
Maxine was born July 7, 1927, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Harvey and Emma (Egmar) Dolph. On August 10, 1957, she married the late George Scott. Maxine had a love for music, she played in a band through the Senior Center well into her 80’s. Her church was important to her, and was a lifelong member of North Wayne Mennonite Church in Dowagiac.
Maxine is survived by her sons, David (Lucy) Scott of St. Charles, IL, and Daniel (Karen) Scott, of Niles, MI; and grandson, Alan Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Emma Dolph; husband, George Scott; and son, Jim Scott.
