Marvin's Obituary
Marvin Dewitt Henderson Sr., 79 of Grand Junction passed away on Saturday October 21, 2023 at the Wings Home in Allegan. Born on April 17, 1944 in Martinsville, Indiana to Hershel and Cordia Henderson. United in marriage on June 16, 1962 to Deanna Lewis.
Visitation for Marvin will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Ron Hall will officiate.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 61 2/3 years Deanna and children; Marvin (Terry) Henderson Jr., Catrina Stephenson, Cathy Jines, Sherry Thorton, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by siblings; George William Henderson, Lorne Henderson and Margie Davis.
Preceded in death by his parents Hershel (Cordia) Henderson, and brothers: Dalbert Henderson, Thurman Henderson, Hershel Henderson and Frank Henderson.
Marvin was a very outgoing and friendly man, who never met a stranger. He would lend a helping hand wherever and whenever needed. Marvin loved music and loved to sing. He always wanted to know “What the special was” when out to dinner. Marvin became involved in the sales of Minneapolis Moline Tractors in 1962, while working for a Farm Implement company, in 1976, he became a co-owner of Henderson Implement Sales Inc. with his brother George, where he remained until he retired in 1991. He loved all things tractor, especially tractor pulls, he also owned and showed steam engines. Marvin also loved his 1970 Super Bird and his 1994 Dodge Viper. Marvin and Deanna attended Lacota General Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed.
