Marcia's Obituary
Marcia (Campbell) Eubank, 75, of St Joseph, passed away unexpectedly at Corewell Health Lakeland on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Marcia was born in Port Huron, MI on August 10, 1947 to Harold and Bernice (Teeple) Campbell. Their family would later move to Elkhart, IN where she graduated from Jimtown High School in 1965.
After high school, Marcia worked at Miles Laboratories. It was there, one day, she saw a young Ron Eubank stand up in the cafeteria and stare at her as she walked across the room. Eventually, they would strike up a conversation about good convertible weather, which led to dating and marriage on August 22, 1970. For the entirety of their marriage and regardless of audience, Marcia was fond of saying, “I’m Ron’s only investment that grows.”
In 1974, Marcia and Ron would relocate their young family to St Joseph. At their house on Browning Drive, they had an inground swimming pool installed that would lead to many family, neighborhood, church and school pool parties. Marcia volunteered at Christ Lutheran School helping in the classrooms, in the cafeteria, and in the church and school office. She also started her career with the US Census Bureau interviewing people at their homes for crime, labor and economic statistics.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always wanted everyone to be happy and have fun. She loved to entertain - vacations, card parties, mystery dinners, block parties, you could always find Marcia organizing, cooking, and enjoying them. She took up tole painting and would gift family and friends with her work. Marcia also started selling her items at craft shows around southwest Michigan. She would always tell people “I’m not an artist” but she definitely was.
In retirement, Marcia supported her husband Ron at his barbershop conventions by hosting hospitality suites. Once again, you would find her cooking up a storm for anyone that walked by her door - making sure they were fed, had something to drink, and got a smile. Marcia loved her time in Gulf Shores, AL every winter where she could see sunsets, hear the surf, and host friends and family all winter long. Everyone knew you could never leave her house without leftovers for at least another meal or two, or without a gift of some sort - her lock & lock containers & dish towel grab bags were legendary. She also returned to volunteering at her granddaughter’s elementary school with the reading program where Grandma Marcia always had room on her lap and a hug for all of the kids.
Marcia loved her family above all else. She was a wonderful daughter to her parents and a constant, loving big sister to her brothers, “Chip, Steven, and Marky.” Marcia always told her daughters that all she wanted was for them to be happy and for them to always be there for each other. She was blessed beyond measure when her granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth, was born. Lauren was lucky to have been spoiled with time, attention and lots of adventures with her Grandma Marcia.
Marcia is survived by her children, Lisa Eubank and Lori (Cody) Bennett; her granddaughter, Lauren Bennett; her family by choice, Tim & Julie Morgan and grandchildren, Liam & Fiona Morgan; and special bonus family, John & Janet Crawford and grandson, Michael Crawford. She is also survived by siblings, Harold “Chip” (Gail) Campbell, Steven (the late Candy) Campbell, Cindy (the late Mark) Campbell, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald (Ron) Eubank, sister, Pamela Campbell, parents, Harold and Bernice Campbell, and longtime friend, Jean Baker.
Marcia’s family will honor her at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark Suite 3550, Chicago, IL 60601 or Hope Grows in c/o Corewell Health Foundation, 1234 Napier Ave., St. Joseph, MI 49085.
